An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager within our new Derby Drug and Alcohol Service.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for supporting the safe, effective and high-quality delivery of services across Derby.
You will lead operational delivery, support teams to perform at their best, and work closely with partners to improve outcomes for people accessing support.
About the role
As an Operations Manager, you will lead your team, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding and service delivery. You will provide strong, visible leadership to your teams, creating a positive, reflective and high-performing culture.
You will work closely with senior leaders, clinical and admin teams and partners to ensure services are responsive, safe and meeting local need, whilst supporting continuous improvement and innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading teams to deliver safe, effective and person-centred services.
- Supporting staff through development and performance management.
- Ensuring compliance with CQC requirements, organisational policies and clinical guidance.
- Overseeing service delivery, risk management and safeguarding processes.
- Managing workload, capacity and performance across teams.
- Building strong relationships with partners and stakeholders across Derby.
- Investigating incidents and complaints and embedding learning.
- Promoting trauma-informed and recovery-focused approaches across teams.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and motivated leader with a strong background in substance use, health or social care services.
You will be confident leading teams, managing performance and driving high-quality service delivery in a complex and fast-paced environment.
You will have:
- Significant experience working within substance use or related services.
- Experience of managing or supervising staff and supporting team development.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, harm reduction and clinical practice.
- Experience of working in partnership and influencing across systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
You will be values-driven, committed to improving outcomes and confident in leading teams through change. You will promote a culture of compassion, accountability and continuous improvement, helping to ensure people receive high-quality, responsive support.
