CDARS began 40 years ago as a psychosocial service supporting individuals experiencing substance and alcohol misuse issues, as well as their families and loved ones.

Our work extends across mental health, neurodiversity, and substance and alcohol misuse, providing compassionate, person-centred support to individuals, families, and communities.

This year Community Drug and Alcohol Recovery Services (CDARS) has become Community Discovery and Recovery Services. This change of name reflects the natural evolution of our organisation and the wider range of support we now provide.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced  LERO Coordinator to develop and coordinate a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation (LERO) within our drug and alcohol services.

You will work alongside people with lived and living experience of substance and alcohol use, peer mentors, volunteers, treatment providers and community partners to strengthen peer-led recovery, co-production and community involvement.

The role will focus on creating opportunities for people with lived experience to influence services, support others in recovery and take active leadership roles within the local recovery community.

Experience of working within a LERO, peer-led recovery service or commissioned drug and alcohol service** would be advantageous.
