Description
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of those affected by substance misuse?
Do you want to be part of a dynamic, compassionate team that puts recovery at the heart of everything? If so, we want to hear from you.
As a Forward Trust Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP), you will play a crucial role in the clinical care of individuals experiencing issues with drug and/or alcohol use. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will independently assess, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate medications to support recovery, including substitute prescribing and detox regimes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users’ physical and mental health.
- Prescribe and review medication related to substance misuse, including opioid substitution therapy and alcohol detoxification.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness, adherence, and safety, making timely clinical decisions to adjust treatment plans.
- Provide harm reduction advice and support for safer use, including naloxone distribution.
- Liaise closely with GPs, mental health professionals, social workers, and other partners to deliver coordinated care.
- Support service users with co-occurring mental health or physical health conditions.
- Contribute to service development, quality assurance, and audits.
This is more than a prescribing role—it's an opportunity to be a positive force in someone's journey toward stability, health, and independence.
You'll work in a supportive, values-driven environment where your input is truly valued. Expect variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence meaningful change—both clinically and socially.
