An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inspire service in East Lancashire for the role of a substance misuse Group Facilitator on a 3 month fixed term contract. Please note whilst the base of the post will be Accrington for expenses purposes the position will be within the Hyndburn & Rossendale team and will include delivering groups within a community venue in Rawtenstall. Inspire is a successful health and social care charity working with individuals, families and communities across England and Wales that are affected by drugs, alcohol and the behaviours associated. We believe that positive change can be facilitated throughout a person’s journey and at any stage; and support and guidance can enable choice, possibilities and opportunities. The successful candidate will deliver group/pod work programmes, such as Foundations of Recovery, Alcohol Extended Brief Interventions and Non-Opiate Groups. You will work with other programme facilitators and professionals within your team to design and deliver groups/pods, using evidence based practice, covering the most appropriate issues to your service users. This will be alongside the tasks of recovery planning, risk assessing, risk management planning and client-centred reviews of a small caseload of stimulant users, in addition to knowledge and experience of Medically Assisting Recovery and psychosocial interventions and engaging collaboratively alongside colleagues – including peer mentors, volunteers, nurses and doctors, to ensure an integrated package of care. You will be committed to a positive, holistic and empowering approach and will work with service users to initiate recovery from drug and alcohol dependence, to enable service users to build their own recovery capital and to support them to move into long-term sustained recovery and social (re)integration. You will be committed to high quality service provision and the active involvement of service users in all aspects of your work. You will have some training of relevance or be suitably qualified, and have experience when it comes to addressing substance misuse issues within a busy and dynamic integrated drug and alcohol service. It is expected that weekend and evening work will form part of your brief, as well as being able to work flexibly across all of the different service settings and to be able to travel across the whole of the East Lancashire footprint as needed.
