Description

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance use issues.

Our Herefordshire (West Midlands) Recovery Service responds to the needs of people across the county, working in locations throughout Herefordshire to maximise the opportunities for service users.

As a Recovery Worker within the Herefordshire Recovery Service, you’ll make a real difference as you empower and enable people to change.

Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy support to enhance your own life too, as you make the role your own in a friendly, supportive multidisciplinary team.

We have a new, exciting opportunity to support the delivery of our psychosocial (PSI) group work programme, focussing on our aftercare offer for people who have achieved their initial goals and are either abstinent or have controlled use.

The Aftercare Worker will be responsible for delivering several group sessions, covering a variety of topics, and supporting service users to move successfully through treatment.

Using evidence-based programmes, you will support people to gain access to treatment to maintain their recovery goals.

Working with other staff within the team, you will deliver a range of programmes, including the Recovery Skills Programme (RSP) to support long-term recovery, Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention, and our in-house Relapse Prevention programme. The role will also support our peer mentor programme and the development of a weekend recovery community.

You will join a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, recovery workers and peer mentors and be required to work alongside a range of partners in criminal justice, housing and health and social care.

Please note that this role will require regular travel to other hubs as required, so you will need to have your own vehicle or be willing to use public transport.

This role includes weekend working (Saturday) as standard, therefore working hours are likely to be Tuesday to Saturday to accommodate.
