Description

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with substance use issues.

We’re looking to recruit an Advanced Recovery Practitioner to join our Substance Use & Mental Health (SUMH) Leicester City Team.

Whilst working within this role you'll make a real difference to the lives of the people whom we support as you develop personal, client centred, collaborative treatment and recovery plans to help individuals to turn things around.

Passionate about people, you'll enjoy the scope and support to enhance your own personal and professional development too, as work as part of a friendly, integrated and multidisciplinary team.

As an Advanced Recovery Practitioner within our Substance Use and Mental Health Team (SUMH), you will ideally have experience of working with individuals who have drug and or alcohol usage who also have co-occurring mental health difficulties or you will possess experience in a closely related field in health, social care or criminal justice services and/or a relevant qualification in a related subject, in social work as an example.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide enhanced care co-ordination for a complex/high-risk caseload of service users with co-existing substance use and mental health issues and deliver short-term psychological evidenced based interventions.

Additionally, you will support and contribute to the delivery of continued professional development (CPD) events for staff within the service and with key partner agencies.

The role will entail providing case consultation and advice to the wider staff team and on occasions sometimes involve leading multi-disciplinary team discussions to support holistic and individual treatment planning.

Whilst ensuring excellent liaison with mental health services, you will take a pro-active and lead role in supporting substance use and mental health pathway development within the service and work closely with partnership agencies.
