With medical advances meaning people with disabilities are living longer, the cost of social care is taking an ever greater share of public expenditure and more people are not meeting the threshold for publicly funded care. A repeated failure to introduce a care cap means one in seven of us will face catastrophic care costs at the end of our lives. What is the future of social care?
