11:00 am: Alcohol Awareness Workshop for Dry January11:00 am: Alcohol Awareness Workshop for Dry January – Online A 1 hour workshop open to all residents and professionals in Hounslow covering alcohol, it’s impact on health and low-risk NHS guidelines. This Alcohol Awareness training is being delivered during Dry January by the OASIS (Outreach Alcohol Support & Intervention Service) team, part of ARC Hounslow. The aim of the training is to give facts and information about alcohol which will enable you to make positive choices about your own use of alcohol and to increase your knowledge and awareness of alcohol related issues. After the session, participants will also be given the opportunity to talk privately with the facilitators about any concerns they may have about their own or someone else’s drinking. |

4:00 pm: Free Online Workshop: Go Dry For January4:00 pm: Free Online Workshop: Go Dry For January – Online Going sober for a month provides a wealth of benefits for your mind, body and bank balance! During this session, JITAI co-founder Dr David McLaughlan will share a range of top tips for the Dry January Challenge. He will cover mindful drinking techniques for those who want to gain more control over their drinking, but don’t want to give up completely. There will also be some discussion about how to support colleagues and create an inclusive environment for everyone. Dr David McLaughlan will also share the benefits of the new JITAI mobile app using “Just In time Adaptive Interventions” to help users avoid unwanted drinking behaviours. The innovative approach was designed by experts from The Universities of Oxford, UCL and Sussex, and a recent study showed the app was successful in reducing alcohol use in 90% of users.
