In recent years, concern about the harms associated with gambling has been increasing in the UK and in 2019, the Department of Health and Social Care commissioned Public Health England (PHE) to undertake a review of the evidence on gambling harms. The review looked at the prevalence, risk factors and public health harms associated with gambling, stakeholder perspectives, and the economic and social burden.
