Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As a Registered Nurse you’ll bring your clinical skills and passion for care to a role that encourages you to develop your career. You could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency. The London Region establishments and IRC's work as a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.

We have opportunities within a variety of our sites, including: HMP Brixton, HMP Pentonville and HMP Wormwood Scrubs, each of which are uniquely known for their offering of reform and rehabilitation services as well as specialist knowledge within psychological cases and learning difficulties. We also have opportunities within Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) which houses one of the most vulnerable and challenged detainee groups in society. If you have a passion for broadening your clinical experience in a role that you learn something new everyday, this could be the opportunity for you.

If you are looking for your next career move within Practice Plus Group, you will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health or Adult) with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You’ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service.

You should possess a good working knowledge of conducting risk assessments and care planning as well as someone who is creative and forward thinking to work through the issues that may arise in this challenging but exciting environment.

Knowledge in therapeutic interventions such as CBT or Steps to Wellbeing are desirable but transferable clinical skills will be considered.

If you're interested in clinical development, we will work with you to provide the appropriate training, so that you can take charge of how far you develop your career with Practice Plus Group.
