    Description

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As a Pharmacy Technician in the Medicines Management team, you will assist with the provision and delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high-quality prison pharmaceutical service, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.

The London Region establishments and IRC's work as a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service in combination with Pharmacy to prevent hospital admissions. You will be an integral member of the Medicines Management team in the wider cluster of Healthcare Services for our sites across the London Region.

These include: HMP Brixton, HMP Pentonville and HMP Wormwood Scrubs, each of which are uniquely known for their offering of reform and rehabilitation services as well as specialist knowledge within psychological cases and learning difficulties. We also have opportunities within Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) which houses one of the most vulnerable and challenged detainee groups in society. If you have a passion for broadening your pharmaceutical experience in a role that you learn something new everyday, this could be the opportunity for you.

You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) to be considered for this role. You will also have relevant post-qualification experience working within a pharmacy environment and multi-disciplinary team.

You’ll be able to demonstrate assessment skills, including the undertaking of risk assessments and have sound patient counselling skills, treating patients with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach.

If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!
