GamCare is the UK’s leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling-related harms.
GamCare is now looking to recruit a Gambling Treatment Practitioner to work within our new problem gambling treatment service in Edinburgh. The post holder will be required to work in partnership with GamCare’s partner agency RCA Trust, who are proving gambling treatment in other areas of Scotland.
You will be working with problem gamblers and others affected by problem gambling to support them in reaching their recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Providing face to face and telephone advice, assessment, brief or structured interventions and group programmes to help clients achieve their recovery goals;
- Providing case management and working within an integrated care pathway;
- Ensuring safeguarding issues are managed effectively.
- Work in partnership with local services
You should have significant experience in individual client work in the field of addictions, mental health or a social care setting with adults or young people. You should be flexible in using a range of low and high-intensity interventions and modalities including Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) tools.
You will form part of an enthusiastic clinical treatment team working from several locations across Scotland, London, Home Counties and Lincoln as well as online. You should be versatile and adaptable and committed to on-going development.
We are looking for individuals to work full time which include weekend and evenings.

Ability to work responsibly and flexibly in a variety of service delivery settings.
Professional qualification in health/social/youth and community or demonstrable experience of working in the field of addiction with a commitment to complete NVQ level 3 Health and Social Care.
NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent qualification in social wrk, mental health nursing, counselling or addiction studies.
Provide advice, screening, brief and comprehensive assessments with individual, families or couples.
Significant experience of individual client work in an addictions or social care setting with adults and or young people.
