    Description

Have you thought about working within prison healthcare?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

We have opportunities within a variety of our sites, including: HMP Brixton, HMP Pentonville and HMP Wormwood Scrubs, each of which are uniquely known for their offering of reform and rehabilitation services as well as specialist knowledge within psychological cases and learning difficulties.

We also have opportunities within Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre (IRC) which houses one of the most vulnerable and challenged detainee groups in society. If you have a passion for broadening your clinical experience in a role that you learn something new everyday, this could be the opportunity for you.

As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner with independent prescribing, you'll deliver face-to-face services, enabling patients to obtain health information from the appropriate health care professional.

You will be providing safe and effective health assessments and treatment of patients within the establishment. You'll be accountable for your practice including the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and discharge or referral of patients, independent of medical intervention.

Practicing within your sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice, you'll assess patients, and order and interpret investigations, diagnose and treat patients. You'll be responsible for the assessment of care needs the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care, without supervision, and teaching other nursing and non-nursing staff.

If you're interested in further clinical development, we will work with you to provide the appropriate training, so that you can take charge of how far you develop your career with Practice Plus Group.
