About Us

WELCOME!

www.drinkanddrugsnews.com is the website of Drink and Drugs News magazine.

Drink and Drugs News (DDN)is the fortnightly magazine for all professionals in the drug and alcohol field. Published independently by CJ Wellings, it is circulated worldwide through publishing hard copies and on the DDN website.

DDN provides news, features, research, and the latest thinking in the field in an attractive and convenient format. With thriving comments and letters pages, the magazine has become the place where people working with substance misuse have their say – and know it will be read.

Informative and inclusive, each edition of DDN signposts readers to more information and resources, and it is relied on as the regular update and networking tool.

DDN receives no funding of any kind and all costs for the free circulation are paid for by advertising – which is why the magazine has become valued for its unbiased editorial and as a forum for diverse views and debate.

DDN readers work in all areas of the substance misuse field, giving a varied pool of job-seekers.

Each issue is read by drug and alcohol agencies; DATs and DAATs; family support workers; those working in the prison and probation services and all areas of criminal justice including CARAT services; GPs, nurses, and others in primary care; housing professionals; social workers; those in education, prevention and public health; commissioners; politicians and government agencies, service users, and advocates.

Our recent readers’ survey demonstrated that each copy in our regular circulation of 11,300 is read by at least three people.

DDN works closely with FDAP, as well as in partnership with the major organisations in the field to produce a living network for everyone involved with substance misuse.

Our team at DDN is Claire Brown - editor; Ian Ralph - sales manager; Faye Liddle - sales executive; Jez Tucker -  designer; and Charlotte Middleton - administrator.
