The RAPt learning and development team are currently expanding its range of training and qualification opportunities available to staff, volunteers and former service users.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated training facilitator to develop, coordinate and deliver dynamic training programmes. The successful applicant should have a background in addiction counselling, and experience of assessing performance and written material against recognised criteria.
This position plays a critical role in delivering RAPt’s CPCAB accredited Diploma in Addiction Counselling training course as well as supporting the team in the delivery of other training and qualifications. Some travel and flexible working will be required.

The ideal candidate will have an NVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent and have experience of residential care. Some knowledge of administering medication and good computer literacy would be advantageous. You will be based within a substance misuse centre in Southampton. Main duties will include supporting the service users and dispensing medication.

Addiction Counsellor

We are seeking an enthusiastic Addiction Counsellor to join our therapy team at Castle Craig Hospital. Castle Craig is a leading 12 step addiction treatment centre, located in the Scottish countryside, close to Edinburgh.
A degree or diploma in counselling, psychology or nursing is preferable. Experience in the 12 Step/Minnesota Model is required.
Duties and responsibilities will include providing individual, group and family therapy for patients with alcohol and drug dependence. Successful candidates will also be expected to act as case managers for patients – working to coordinate all aspects of care for each patient, including developing individualised treatment plans and follow up with referral sources.
Further training opportunities are provided. Temporary accommodation is available if necessary.
